Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a service that provides access to materials that are not available locally. If a Library Card Holder is unable to find the item they are looking for within our collection, we will do our best to borrow it for you from another library.
Search
Search the collections of many Vermont public, academic, and school libraries, as well as the Vermont Department of Libraries and the Vermont Historical Society library, using CLOVER. CLOVER stands for Collaborative Libraries Of Vermont. You can request a variety of items through this system such as Books, DVDs, audiobooks and magazine articles that you cannot find at the GFPL.
Request
Please note that individuals are not able to request books directly from other libraries, we must make the request for you.
GFPL ILL Guidelines
- Lending libraries have discretion about whether to provide an item and for how long.
- Once a request is sent we cannot cancel this request. Before submitting a request, make sure that this is a book that you will not try to get from elsewhere.
- Interlibrary loan items must be at least one year old. If the material you are requesting is newer than 1 year old, you can submit a Purchase Request form.
- We are unable to request books from out of state at this time.
Interlibrary Loan services are supported in part by the Vermont Department of Libraries, which administers federal Library Services & Technology Act funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
