Books, Books, and More Books on Fall Foliage Day! 
Fri, Sept. 30th from 2:30-7pm. Sat, Oct. 1 from 9am-3pm.
The Friends of the Groton Library group is happy to announce their annual Fall Foliage Day Book Sale.  There will be hundreds of books arranged category for easy rummaging, including children’s, history, cooking, crafts, biographies, classics, language, music, poetry…plus DVDs, too!  And, during the final hour on Saturday (2-3pm), fill a bag for $5!  All sales by donation, and all proceeds support library programs.  Proceeds from our 2015 sale supported the purchase of new audiobooks, our 2016 Summer Reading Program, and several other special programs.  Thank you for all of your book donations throughout the year that make this fundraiser a huge success!

Annual Handmade Afghan Raffle 
Winning tickets will be chosen at the Chicken Pie Supper on Oct. 1!                 
TWO beautiful afghans to choose from this year, handmade & donated by our Crafts & Conversation library group. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.  Stop by the library to get your tickets! Proceeds from last year’s afghan raffle made our popular VINS Falconry program possible this year.

Vermont Humanities Council Book Discussion Series
Kicks off on Monday, Oct. 3 at 6:30pm with “Interpreter of Maladies” by Jhumpa Lahiri.
To or from the United States, spanning India, Cuba, and Greece, this series of Pulitzer-winning works spotlights characters in the midst of broader migrations.  These sessions are free, open to the public, and accessible to those with disabilities. Books are available to loan in advance.

Crafts & Conversation
Every Wednesday from 1-3pm.
Stop by the library for some crafty tips, and perhaps share some of your own.  Bring a project to work on or just enjoy some good company!

Vermont Humanities Council Book Discussion Series

are available to all patrons through our library’s membership to www.listenupvermont.org Call or stop by the library for more information.

Free Car Service!  Now you can work with ease on your vehicle referencing ChiltonLibrary on your mobile phone or tablet.  This is a FREE service to all of our cardholders through our library’s subscription to Vermont Online Library.  ChiltonLibrary provides information for step-by-step service & repair procedures. Free Online Courses in Finance, DIY Projects, Cooking, Foreign Languages & More: Available to all patrons through our library’s membership to “Universal Class.”  Call or stop by the library for more information.

Did you know that all Groton Library cardholders can log in to see their accounts online from any computer?  See what items you have checked out, renew those that you’d like to keep longer, or place a “hold” on the most popular new-release titles.  Go to grotonlibrary.kohavt.org.  Your “login” is your full barcode, starting with “2vtk+”  Your password is your last name, starting with a capital letter.  (You can change your password if you like after logging in.)

Interested in helping to check in & out books at the library?  We are looking for folks who can come help out at the front desk during our open hours twice a month.
